Timing your Real Estate Transactions

It has been said that “timing is everything.”

As I have been focusing on serenity this year and clearing my life of excess, I have found that the only part of timing that really matters is the Now.

We can get caught up in the noise of the industry. Last year the housing market did this… the forecast says next year will be… my equity was and will be… interest rates were… and will be…

But life doesn't happen in the forecasts. It happens today.

Selling

Is there a “good” time to sell your house?

While some will tell you the signs and symptoms of the best times to sell your house, the true answer lies within you and your household. My own last purchase wasn’t about the market; it was simply the best time because my partner and I were ready.

Do you long for a larger or smaller house? Would you like to be closer to town or farther out? Is there a reason that selling your house makes your life more joyful and less stressful?

Then yes, it is a good time to do it. We are in a good real estate market right now with very few red flags, so even the great market forecasters would agree with this timing—even if I believe you already know your own answer.

Buying

Buying a home is so much more than a financial investment. It is your sanctuary from the distractions that clutter the mind with topics that are completely out of your control.

What makes the best sanctuary for you is private and individual. You already have those answers inside you. It doesn't matter if it has the latest fad in countertops.

What matters is simple: can you see yourself sipping your coffee or your wine in complete relaxation within its boundaries? When you look out the window, can you see a good day?

Serenity

Sometimes, instead of worrying about market trends, interest rates, and decor, it is better to let yourself feel what you truly need and choose to move in that direction.

This might not be my typical real estate blog post, yet it was on my heart to remind everyone: we only live once. How much joy we choose while going through it is the real goal. <3
